Rhombus is building the future of physical security—one that’s smart, streamlined, and built to scale. Their approach combines sleek hardware with cloud-based software, giving organizations the tools to manage building access and security systems from anywhere. With simplicity and safety at the core of their mission, Rhombus is reshaping what physical security looks and feels like in modern workplaces.
Project Challenge
Rhombus approached us to create a 3D motion video that would spotlight the visual design of their newest product line: Rhombus Access Control. Their vision was precise—clean, minimal, and striking. Rather than diving into technical features or user flows, the goal was to let the aesthetic speak for itself. Each product—the DC20 Access Control Unit, DR20 Door Reader, and DR40 Video Intercom—needed to be presented as a refined object, with every curve, surface, and detail carefully considered. The challenge was to elevate industrial hardware into something visually iconic, without overcomplicating the story.
Project Solution
To bring Rhombus’s vision to life, we treated each product like a design object—highlighting shape, texture, and finish through controlled lighting and deliberate pacing. We crafted a minimalist 3D environment that allowed the hardware to take full focus, with smooth camera moves and thoughtful composition reinforcing the elegance of each piece. From soft shadows to material reflections, every visual decision was made to enhance the products’ physical presence. The final result is a clean, atmospheric video that captures the refined simplicity of Rhombus Access Control—without saying a word.

Behind the Scenes

Take a peek at the clay-stage breakdown of the Rhombus Access Control video. These clips show how we built each scene, starting from base models and gradually layering in textures, lighting, and color to create the final polished look. A clean air story, visualized step by step.

who is & why ubunzo

Ubunzo is a 3D design studio built for teams that want results without the overhead. We're not a big agency with layers of managers and vague timelines. We're a tight team of designers, animators, and developers who care about doing good work—and doing it right.

Our clients include startups, B2B brands, e-comm, and tech companies that need strong visuals to pitch, launch, or grow. Some come for a single motion video. Others use our subscription like an in-house team—minus the hiring.

What sets us apart is how we work: clear communication, no fluff, and zero ghosting. We listen, we build, we deliver.

Our team is remote—spread from Alberta to Europe to Southeast Asia—so we stay nimble, cost-efficient, and fast. No office drama, no wasted time. Just a clean pipeline and solid results.

Launching your first product or your fiftieth? We’ll help you make it look great and work hard. That’s Ubunzo.
