Bookshelf Jurassic

Promo Video

A new crypto-backed e-book library is called Bookshelf.

People may read, borrow, and discover new books with Bookshelf, and they can pay with ETH or Bitcoin. On the website, self-publishing is also possible. The system automatically awards tokens to authors who self-publish their works so that they can get payments on their cryptocurrency wallets as soon as a book is purchased.‍

Challenge

The Bookshelf team wished to create a 3D animation-based promotional film for one of the independently published books on their site. They approached us with the idea to create a little 3D film for the book "Dino Mike," which is about a dinosaur who becomes involved in some interesting events with a group of first graders. The video was intended to be a clear allusion to a memorable sequence from a "Jurassic Park" film.

Solution

After receiving approval for the storyboard, where we collected style references, color schemes/ and animation examples, we started working on the rough cut of the 3D video without textures and lights. Once the 3D animation was finished we ensured that the right textures, materials, and color scheme had been used to emphasize the tone of the book.
